Financial support for private house owners

Rural stimulation program
The last few years the Dutch government has stimulated private house owners to invest in solar power. The program was called Energiepremieregeling (EPR). As a private house owner, you could get about 70% subsidy on your investment in solar power.  Unfortunately at the end of 2003 the government decided to stop this program. Right now there are only a few small, local support programs left.

Subsidy from the municipality
Sometimes, municipalities have a small budget for local renewable projects. Please contact your own municipality for further information.

Dutch utility Greenchoice supports solar power
Energy company Greenchoice, stimulates the production of solar power. You receive a discount on you green energy bill from about € 0,5 cent/kWh when you produce solar power with your own private solar system. Check the website
www.greenchoice.nl for more information.

Dutch utility Delta supports solar power
Private house owners and small businesses who are customers of energy company Delta
in the south-west of Holland, receive a subsidy of € 1,-/Wp when they invest in a solar power system. You can find the application forms at the chapter Downloads.

MEP
As a private house owner it is also possible to apply for MEP-compensation. This is a rural support program for the production of renewable energy. It is quite complicated to apply for this compensation, it requires a lot of administrative work. In general you can receive 9,7 Eurocent for every kWh solar power you produce. You can find more information about this program at www.certiq.nl.
